1. Is it going to hurt?

Your skin type is an important factor in how this treatment works, especially because of the amount of pigment in the skin. Everyone’s pain tolerance is different, but most people say it feels like tiny pinpricks.

2. How does the treatment work?

Laser hair removal works by using concentrated light (laser) to target and damage hair follicles, which slows or stops future hair growth.

Here’s a simple breakdown:

  1. The laser emits light that’s absorbed by the pigment (melanin) in the hair.

  2. The light turns into heat, which damages the hair follicle beneath the skin.

  3. This damage delays or stops the hair from growing back. Over time, with multiple sessions, hair grows back finer, lighter, or not at all.

It's most effective on people with light skin and dark hair.

3. How many treatments do I need?

Most people need 6 to 8 laser hair removal sessions, spaced about 4 to 6 weeks apart, to see significant and long-lasting results. However, the exact number can vary depending on:

  • The area being treated (e.g., face, legs, underarms)

  • Your hair type and color (darker, thicker hair responds best)

  • Your skin tone

  • Hormonal factors (like PCOS or certain medications)

Some maintenance sessions might be needed once or twice a year after your initial treatments, especially for areas with hormonal hair growth.

4. Who is not suitable for laser hair removal?

Laser hair removal might not be suitable if you are:

  • Pregnant or breastfeeding

  • Taking certain medications (like Roaccutane, photosensitive medications)

  • Recently sunburned

  • Very fair-haired (blonde, grey, or red hair may not absorb the laser well)

We'll always conduct a thorough consultation and patch test first for your safety.

5. How much does it cost?

Pricing depends on the area treated. Package deals are available for multiple sessions to help you save while getting optimal results.

6. Are there any side effects?

Mild redness or slight swelling is common and usually settles within a few hours. Full aftercare advice is provided to ensure your skin heals beautifully.

7. Am I suitable for laser hair removal?

All skin types can be treated safely & effectively with the laser, however laser does not work on light hair.  I offer a free consultation and patch test where I can advise on your suitability for the treatment.

Treatment cannot be carried out if you are wearing fake tan so make sure you get scrubbing before your appointment!
